Neil Hatton (piano) Paul Geeson (bass guitar) Paul has been playing double bass and bass guitar for over 30 years. During this time he has played in most of the major hotels and concert venues within London and the South East, and is increasingly playing for dinner music at restaurants throughout the area. Paul started his musical journey in the classical field playing in local orchestras and chamber groups. His involvement in music then led to him moving into the jazz and rock fields. Since then he has backed a number of the current major British jazz artists as well as being a member of a number of jazz Big Bands, function bands, jazz and rock groups. Paul has also been involved with stage shows and night clubs (Central London and local) both as a player and as a sound engineer. Steve Taylor (drums) Born into a 'showbizzy' family, Steve started playing drums at the age of 6 to the sounds of the television test card, sitting for hours in front of the screen. At the age of 10 he started formal lessons with Jimmy Benson (original 'West Side Story' drummer). On leaving school Steve turned professional, firstly forming and co-running a pop band 'Ministry of Sound' through which he released 2 singles. During the late 80s he co-wrote songs with Janey-Lee Grace (backing vocalist for George Michael / Wham) with whom he also formed a pop band called 'Grace'. Steve has also performed with a number of other funk and soul artists. On the jazz side Steve has played with a number of major jazz artists including Jim Mullen, Gerard Presencer, Steve Waterman, Clare Martin and Ian Shaw. In the 90s Steve co-ran Ziggy's Jazz Club (in the West End), booking artists and playing host drummer to top names. During this time he also recorded a number of albums for Candid Records, Lip Hot Records and i2i Records. Steve also has many TV and radio credits to his name including work for ITV and BBC Radios 2 and 3. His current projects include producing a new 'Runners' album (Runners is a vehicle that he and his partner Josie Frater set up in 1996 to combine world, jazz, funk and Celtic music), playing on the new Maggie Reilly Album and gigging with blues/jazz institution Big Chief. |
